Support Our Work at Monster Arts
- Despite the diversity of our region, many people face barriers to fully participating in their communities.
- South Asian newcomers experience racism, financial pressures and loneliness.
- South Asian youth don’t see themselves represented in school curriculum.
- South Asian artists don’t have access to the same platforms and resources that “mainstream” artists have.
- South Asian seniors suffer from social isolation, made worse by a lack of culturally-relevant recreational activities.
On behalf of the community, thank you.

- We use the arts as a tool to break these barriers. By donating to MonsterArts, you’re fuelling our ability to:
- Create free, high-quality artistic experiences that “feel like home.”
- Teach schoolchildren Bhangra dance in addition to Ballroom.
- Provide artists with monster-sized stages and mentorship tailored to their diverse art forms.
- Bring seniors together to sing old Hindi songs, make Rangoli art and drink chai with new friends.

What You’re Supporting:
Since 2011: #BollywoodMonster Mashup, a multi-day South Asian arts festival featuring FREE concerts, dance performances and family activities. The festival is an accessible space for tens of thousands of South Asian families and newcomers to reconnect with their culture and experience high-quality art.
Since 2013: #MonsterArts for Youth, where professional artists provide school children of all backgrounds with workshops in Bollywood and Bhangra dance, Tamil music, ghazal writing, mandala-making and more. The program has reached 20K+ schoolchildren across the Peel, York, Halton & Waterloo regions.
Since 2017: #MonsterMasterclass, a mentorship program where professional artists learn marketing & entrepreneurship skills and meet industry gatekeepers to help them bring their South Asian arts practice to the public. The program has helped 200+ diverse young artists further their careers.
Since 2018: #MonsterArts for Seniors, which fills gaps in cultural and language-specific services for older adults with professionally-led arts workshops in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati and more. The program has helped 5K+ participants reduce feelings of social isolation.
Donations will be directed towards whichever activities have the greatest need at the time, unless otherwise requested.
